Privacy Policy
Effective 30 September 2026
Airwaves is made by smoltech. The developer does not collect any data about you. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not send anything to a server run by the developer.
What stays on your device
Your stations, played-song history, favorites and settings are stored on your device. Recordings are saved as audio files in a folder you choose. Deleting the app deletes this data, except recordings, which you manage yourself.
iCloud
If you turn on Sync with iCloud, your stations, history, favorites and settings are stored in your own iCloud account, in a private database that the developer cannot read. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.
Services the app connects to
To work, Airwaves connects directly to other services. Like any website you visit, they can see your IP address and what was requested.
- Radio stations, to play their streams and show their logos.
- Radio Browser (radio-browser.info), a community directory of stations, when you search for stations or when the app updates station details. It receives your search words and filters.
- Shazam, run by Apple, when Identify songs with Shazam is on. The app sends a short audio signature made from the radio stream, not from your microphone.
- Apple Music, to show album artwork and find songs, and, if you allow it, to add your favorites to a playlist in your library.
- Spotify, only when you choose to open a song there.
Notifications
Song notifications are created on your device. No notification is sent through a server.
If you write to us, we receive what you send, including your email address and any app details you choose to include. We use it only to reply, and delete it on request.
Children
Airwaves collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
